Harry Potter’s creator, author and creator of the hugely popular children’s series Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, has revealed that his character is named after his own daughter.
The name of the toy poodle, Harry Potter, was first revealed on Twitter by British actor, writer and producer Harry Potter creator JK Rowling.
Rowling first used the toy as a name for a baby when the baby was born to her boyfriend, and Harry was born a year later.
The poodle was named after her daughter.
“My daughter loves Harry Potter so much, I named her after her, but I knew it would be a bit awkward if she started to call her Harry Potter,” said Rowling.
“So I decided to make it a real name for her, and it’s now Harry Potter poodle.”
Rowling and her husband, director Peter Jackson, who wrote the Harry Potter films, are fans of Harry Potter.
Rowling is also a member of the Potter family.
“As a parent, I would love to see her name become a real Harry Potter name,” Rowling said.
“But I don’t know if I can do that without Harry being a bit of a weirdo.”
Rowling told the MailOnline that her daughter will also start using the name on social media, but that her favourite characters are those who are “real people”.
“I have to say, I have a very fondness for people who aren’t in the wizarding world,” Rowling told The MailOnline.
“I am obsessed with the Harry books, so I thought it would make sense to name her Harry because it’s her first name.”
She was always interested in being called ‘Harry Potter’, and that’s why she was so happy when I said she could call herself Harry Potter.
