The launch of the latest batch of Batman toys in India could be imminent as the Indian market is expected to swell this year, according to a senior executive at the toy maker.
In a recent interview to Mint, Ankit Pandey, president of Bengaluru-based toy maker BATMAN toy brand, said that the company was preparing to launch toys in a “limited number of cities” in the next few months.
The company is also planning to launch the next batch of Batmobile, Batmobile 2, Batman 3 and Batman 4 toys in the country.
Pandey, who is also CEO of toy giant Mattel, said there were some issues that the firm had to resolve for the launch of all these toys in 2019.
The toy company has been mulling over launching a new generation of toys in 2021 as the industry is in a transition phase, Pandey said.
“We have to be careful as the market is in transition and we have to make sure we are doing our due diligence.
We are working with the toy makers to understand the best way to launch these products,” Pandey told Mint.
“If they are able to help us launch these, then that is great.
Otherwise, we will have to wait for the next year.”
Pandey also revealed that the next wave of toys will be in line with a more robust and innovative approach to toys that BATMAN has taken over the past few decades.
